       The Russian Criminological Association was established in 1991. Its founders are only physical persons – known scientists, experts in the area of criminology, the criminal, civil, criminal-executive law, as well as law enforcement officers of Russia.

       Now it unites more than 1000 researcher's, professors of law universities, law enforcement officers, judges, employers of executive bodies. All members of the Association deal professionally with problems of crime combating. The Association has branches in more than fifty entities of the Russian Federation.

       The basic goals of the Association are: a comprehensive development of criminology and other knowledge of crime combating, distribution of this knowledge and its practical use in the interests of protection of human rights, public and state interests against criminal infringements; scientifically-grounded, lawful, fair and humane solving of crime combating problems.
